Cargo Space Dimensions

Let’s outline the dimensions and passenger constraints of each vehicle in the lineup.

Trax

First up, we have the Trax, which is a 2-row, 5-passenger vehicle that is only available in FWD. There is a pretty good amount of cargo space in the back with two small compartments on either side for additional storage.

  • 25.6 cubic feet with rear seats up
  • 54.1 cubic feet with rear seats folded down
  • Number of Rows: 2
  • Seating Capacity: 5

Trailblazer

The Trailblazer is similar to the Trax, although it is offered in both FWD and AWD. The Trailblazer has slightly less space in the back with the seats up, but if you put the seats down, it offers more room than the Trax.

  • 25.3 cubic feet with rear seats up
  • 54.4 cubic feet with rear seats folded down
  • Number of Rows: 2
  • Seating Capacity: 5

Equinox

Although the Equinox has the same number of rows and seating capacity as the previous two vehicles, it offers a lot more cargo space. The area is both longer and wider, with additional storage underneath the compartment.

  • 29.9 cubic feet with rear seats up
  • 63.9 cubic feet with rear seats folded down
  • Number of Rows: 2
  • Seating Capacity: 5

Blazer

Next up we have the Blazer. This cargo area is slightly longer, but shorter, than the Equinox, giving it a slight edge in cargo space. There are also two compartments along the side to put a gallon of milk, or other items, in.

  • 30.5 cubic feet with rear seats up
  • 64.2 cubic feet with rear seats folded down
  • Number of Rows: 2
  • Seating Capacity: 5

Traverse

The Traverse is the first 3-row SUV in the Chevy lineup and can seat up to 8 with a bench seat in the second row. It has a good amount of space, even with all the seats up, and what sets it apart is the huge hidden compartment when you lift the flap in the back.

  • 22.9 cubic feet with seats up
  • 97.6 cubic feet with seats folded down
  • Number of Rows: 3
  • Seating Capacity: 8

Tahoe

For those who want more space for the passengers, I would definitely consider upgrading to a Tahoe. It has a very similar amount of cargo space as the Traverse with the seats up, with a lot more legroom up front.

  • 25.5 cubic feet with seats up
  • 122.9 cubic feet with seats folded down
  • Number of Rows: 3
  • Seating Capacity: 8

Suburban

Last but not least is the Suburban, the biggest of the Chevy SUV lineup. If you are looking for a vehicle with a lot of passenger space and a lot of cargo space with all the seats up, the Suburban is where you want to be. This vehicle is almost 19 feet long, though, which is definitely something to consider as well.

  • 41.5 cubic feet with seats up
  • 144.7 cubic feet with seats folded down
  • Number of Rows: 3
  • Seating Capacity: 8
